Great Gatherings

from $10.00

Great Gatherings are fixed-price events meant to engage and grow our community. Gatherings can be designed just for kids, just for grown-ups or for the whole family. Thanks to the generosity of the hosts, all proceeds support the school! Here are the gatherings you can sign up for this year:

  • Teddy Bear’s Parent/Child Picnic with Ms. Kari ~ Wednesday, July 10

    • Bring your favorite teddy and come to Antioch Par for a morning of fun. We’ll play games, have a picnic (provided by Ms. Kari) and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. The cost is $25 per parent/child pair.

  • Family Yoga Class at Inner Space KC ~ Saturday, June 8

    • 1-hour kids/family yoga class taught at Inner Space KC in downtown KC. This is for all ages, parents/caregivers and siblings are welcome! We will incorporate seasonal songs, yoga poses, mindfulness, breaths or and movement for a fun, interactive and grounding class for kids.

  • Pop-up Music Circle & Popsicle Party ~ Sunday, June 2

    • It’s a special weekend Parent-Child Music Circle & popsicle party! Pack a picnic and come enjoy a special mother music celebration led by Stepping Stones KC founder Kristi Hanson! Music will run from 4 to 5 p.m., with popsicles to follow. Families will then be welcome to stay and play and picnic!

  • Uncorked and Uncovered ~ Friday, June 7

    • Let’s drink a bunch of weird Central European wines from neighborhood wine shop Marco Polo selections and play Codenames – a very fun, very social, easy-to-learn table top game (think Connections meets Guess Who?). And if you know me, you know the snacks are gonna be pretty all right.

  • Mama’s Sound Bath & Campfire Night ~ Saturday, May 25

    • This one is all about the moms! Bring a yoga mat, comfortable blanket, journal and favorite sharing beverage or appetizer for a special mothers’ night sound bath and campfire. We’ll gather for an intimate sound bath and journaling session led by COFS Parent and sound healer Alejandra Tejedor Bielsa. At the close of the sound bath, we’ll shift to light a celebratory campfire potluck to share in the light of community bonding.

  • Kids Yoga & Splash Park Playdate ~ Sunday, June 30

    • Parent-child yoga under the trees at Loose Park. Best for ages 2-6 years old, but older siblings are invited! Songs, movement and yoga with instructor Victoria Weber. Followed by a Splash Par outing. Bring a picnic!

  • Learn-to-Knit Tea Party w/ Ms. Kelly ~ Date TBD

    • This will be a learn-to-nit (or refresh your skills) kind of tea party! We will drink some tea, have some snacks and learn some knitting basics to get you started.
